Abstract
This study aims to 1) determine the potential of ecotourism in the tourist area of Sombano, Kaledupa Subdistrict, Wakatobi Regency, 2) to find out the value of Sombano tourism feasibility to be used as an ecotourism object. The study was conducted in the tourist area of Sombano, Kaledupa Subdistrict, Wakatobi Regency, from May to September 2018, using qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis as well as methods for assessing the feasibility of ecotourism. The results showed that the potential of Sombano Village on land and in the waters was quite good. The potential of land is mangrove forest, coastal forest ecosystem, spring water source, unique flora and fauna. Potential tourism in the waters, namely Asin Sombano Beach, Langgira Beach, Trakking Tourism Mangrove Forest, Sombano Lake, Historical Sites and Dive Sites. Sombano tourist area deserves to be developed as a tourist attraction with a feasibility index of 89.58%. Attractiveness has a value of 91.67% and has the potential and feasibility to be developed. Accessibility has a value of 91.67%, Sombano tourism accommodation reaches 75% because it is located in the 10 km area which is not too adequate, supporting facilities and infrastructure reaches 100%, such as puskesmas, restaurants, markets, telephone networks, electricity, drinking water and transportation to support development of Sombano tourism.
